Oracle and JA Americas completed the first regional experience of "Chatbot for Good", their new initiative that reached young people from Mexico and Brazil. Students from high school learned how to use Oracle Intelligent Bot, to face social issues they experience in their communities.

Oracle and Junior Achievement Americas partnered to create the "Chatbot for Good" initiative, which reached hundreds of youth in Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Mexico City and Guadalajara, giving them the necessary tools to solve social and environmental issues through the use of technology. The combination of technology, business and education helps students develop critical skills that for the workplace and allows them to apply their academic learning in real life.

During two days, students from public schools and volunteers from Oracle worked together, relying on the Design Thinking methodology and applying design and programming concepts, to create a prototype of Oracle Intelligent Bot that provides a solution to a social issue existing in their communities. Volunteers and students worked together and prepared a final prototype, which was presented to a jury of executives from Oracle and Junior Achievement. At the end of the second day, the teams presented the project and the most creative, disruptive and applicable idea was selected, rewarding the winning team.

"We are aware of the importance of our young people getting closer to the STEM areas and receiving a digital literacy, which will radically change their preparation for the future of jobs. Thanks to Oracle, today we have the opportunity to bring young people to technologies that are changing the world, learn to incorporate skills that the job market demands, "said Leo Martellotto, President of JA Americas, about this first year of partnership with Oracle at regional level.
