MARKETANGELO , from Canada, is the 2021 JA AMERICA'S Company of the year!

At the 2021 Junior Achievement Americas (JAA) Company of the Year Competition held virtually from December 7-9, student-run company MarketAngelo was recognized the 2021 JA Americas Company of the Year. MarketAngelo is a Gen-Z focused, interactive learning platform that aims to educate users on the relationship between sustainable investing and pursuing profits.

 

The company Cool Bike, represented Junior Achievement Uruguay, as recognized with the FedEx Global Possibilities Award. Cool Bike created a delivery service where the inhabitants can communicate through a unique number of the company and letting them know what to buy for them and where to send it.

To be eligible for the Global Possibilities Award, presented by FedEx, a student company was required to be one of the finalist teams competing at Junior Achievement’s 2021 Company of the Year Competition. The teen entrepreneurs completed additional sessions on the concept and impact of global possibilities, a program developed by FedEx which complements the JA Company Program®.

During the three-day event, the teen-run companies competed for several awards, engaged in several virtual seminars led by regional experts in innovation, entrepreneurship, and business, and virtually pitched their companies to a panel of judges comprised of business leaders. 

 The JA Americas Company of the Year Competition awards the best JA Company of students throughout Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, who present the results of their company and learning experience, and appear before a panel of independent judges who determine company performance against the competition criteria. The goal of the JA Company of the Year Competition is to create a signature showcase for Junior Achievement and the high school students who benefit from the impact of the JA Company Program.
